Tactically speaking, this will be an even match. The fact that we have 5 midfielders against our opponents’ 4 will not give us a great advantage, simply because a team playing with the 4-4-2 can bring one or the other side defenders up to balance the situation when the ball is in play on his side. The 3-5-2 has only one side player (as against the two of the 4-4-2); but this is not a problem either, because an inside midfielder can be brought back to stabilize the tactical standing of the teams. The winner will probably be the team with the highest technical standards, the greatest ability in moving back in time and the best physical condition – independently of the system they are using.
